A day up in Tromso
I'd not been this far North in Norway before, so was a little unsure what to expect.
As soon as the plane descended through the clouds to reveal the Straits/Fjords, Islands and mountains I knew I was going to enjoy being here.

So this trip took me to Norway.
It started out like a normal work trip, arrive at the office do the introductions, find out where the helicopter is located then crack on with the documents.
The aircraft was moving locations, so I timed this trip perfectly.
I flew from Oslo up to Tromso and what a spectacular place it is, unfortunately it was only for the day so didn't get to see much of the town, but the views were breathtaking.

It wasn't planned to go up for a flight, it just kind of happened!
Pilots said they needed to do some checks, so we strapped in and off we flew.
Such an amazing experience getting to see the area from the air. This doesn't happen often but I was pleased it did this time!

They say "a picture paints a thousand words" well I'm glad it does as I don't think I'd be able to justify trying to explain the views.
Although my trip was pretty much all from the air as the rest was inside a hangar until my flight back. It was a trip to remember.
I'd love to go back someday and try out some of the local activities. If anyone is planning to go use www.visittromso.no for an idea of what to expect.

It may sound crazy, but for all the places I've been (including Greenland) I've yet to see the Northern Lights, I even missed them when they ventured to the southern part of United Kingdom!
However I'm more than happy to have seen Tromso in the glorious sunshine.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience, seeing the area from the sky is not something you get to do everyday. It would have been great to spend atleast a weekend looking around but there's always next time.
So the day past and I caught the flight back to Oslo to finish up before heading back to the UK the next day.
Just on the visuals alone, I'd fully recommend trying Tromso, but for now I'll leave you with the photo's.
